“As my work focused on the wheel, Victoria helped me stay present, remain curious, and open to the unfolding process between the clay and me. Her thoughtful balance of quiet direction and space to explore allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of how clay, glaze, and fire come together—the joyful chemistry of creation. I’ve begun to create with true intention and growing confidence.” Lou

The studio is big enough for two and has a Venco wheel, positioned on the deck overlooking the creek. In the workshop is a slab roller and good sized work table, plenty of shelving and a fairly well stocked glaze room. Adjacent to the studio, is a well ventilated kiln room with a new Woodrow 145l kiln. (Internals are 450 x 440 x 740mm). This offering enables a bespoke experience shaped to your level of ceramics knowledge and your interests. For guidance there are four levels:

A Half day studio experience:

For beginners who would like to visit the studio and spend a half day getting their hands in some clay and making a vessel or two that I will fire, glaze and send to them.

Immersives - 3, 5 or 7 days

Introductory: For beginners wishing to get started in ceramics. This includes use of my studio and 5 hours of my time each day to work with you, coach and support, or take you to the studios of other ceramicists and to local galleries around your particular interests and needs. ($250 per day)

Intermediate: For people who have been working with ceramics for 2-3 years and wish to extend their practice and would like some specific coaching as well as introductions to other local artists and local galleries but would like time to work alone in the studio as well. I include an average of 3 hours per day of coaching and support plus any local visits. ($180 per day).

Professional: For experienced ceramicists who want a get away to work on a new body of work in an inspiring place with everything on hand. I include an average of 1 hour per day of my time for any way you would like to use it. ($100 per day)

No matter the level, I include a block of clay each 3 days; bisque firing for all your work and lunch each day. If you would like me to glaze and fire your work, I will do this at market rates for you. If you wish me to ship your work, I will do so at cost.

Accommodation: The Artist’s Retreat, priced separately, is only steps away, via the garden path.
